They Are Watching Us

Today, technological advancements and the proliferation of digital media platforms have granted advertisers unprecedented access to consumers. The ubiquity of screens, from laptops to billboards, has made it challenging to escape their omnipresence. They are as near as the screens on our laptops and as distant as the billboards on the streets of our neighborhoods. Once, we created them, and we were supposed to be the ones observing them. However, it appears that the tables have turned, and now they are watching us. They coexist with us, akin to unwanted aliens, exerting control and attempting to direct our attention toward specific objectives, even when we are unaware of it.

"They Are Watching Us" captures the pervasive influence of commercialization in contemporary societies, using New York City as a microcosm of this commercialized world.
